Air (expending) shafts are expanded immediately under air pressure for instant roll mounting and gripping securely and fast without damage to the core or roll. Moreover, at the touch of the fingers (keys, lugs etc.) between shaft and core, they collapse positively for quick roll removal. The shafts consist of three basic parts - a metal body cast in tough, durable, steel or aluminum alloy, an uniquely elastomeric air expanding element and end journals treated with phosphorous salt film. Simplicity and high reliability of shaft design, and high tension strength-to-weight ratio assure rugged, reliable performance with minimum maintenance in excellent economy and ease of operation.
All air (expanding) customized (OEM and ODM) shafts (Button, Key, Lug, Leaf types) are manufactured to specifications. And standardized components facilitate quick, cost-effective construction and replacement . Applications :
Shafts are engineered to meet the demands of virtually every rewinding and unwinding application. Especially, OEM and ODM shaft products are acquired for various processes in a wide variety of converting and printing systems. Each type widely offers various special options such as aluminum construction, cantilevered support and more. Features :
1. Low Price 2. Greatest Gripping Force 3. Quick Actuation and Easy Replacement 4. Easy Maintenance and Utmost Durability 5. No Core Slip and No Damage to The Core |

Air Inflation Tool for Shafts and Chucks
Tidland Air Inflation Tools are a fast and efficient way to inflate shaft and chuck bladders and elements for optimal performance. Extremely fast and efficient, these inflation tools conform to O.S.H.A. Safety Standards. Pressing the spring-loaded nozzle into the valve is the only way the gun will operate. A separate tip is available for Air Shafts or Air Chucks.
Recoiling Air Hose
Use this air hose to interconnect chucks on a mandrel or core shaft. Includes 1/4 NPT external brass fittings on each end. (1/4 inch x 12 ft.)
Air Hose with Fittings
Attach this abrasion-resistant air hose to an Air Inflation Tool. Includes 1/4 NPT external nylon fittings on each end. (1/4 inch x 10 ft.) Holds 150 psi (10.3 bar) pressure, maximum.
Air Release Tool
Tidland recommends using this Air Release Tool to help ensure operator safety when deflating shafts and chucks.
Punch and Gauge
For use with Tidland external elements, the Punch and Gauge shortens maintenance downtime by ensuring correct hole locations and diameters in new bladders and elements with having to measure each one.
Journal Puller Assembly
The Journal Puller Assembly is extremely helpful for maintenance personnel when removing press fit journals.
